Join the Tahoe Jewish Community of NTHC and TBY for a morning XC Ski along the South Shore Beaches. Meet at the Beacon Restaurant>>> parking lot at Camp Richardson, off hwy 89 in South Lake Tahoe. We’ll ski along the shore of Lake Tahoe to the end of Kiva Beach at Taylor Creek. We can take a snack break there and then ski back to the Beacon through the Tallac historic site. It's about 2.5 miles total, and can be extended if the group wants to go farther. Bring binoculars. There's a good chance we'll see Bald Eagles, Ospreys and waterfowl.
Bring a lunch to enjoy a BYOL together (bring your own lunch) afterwards.
On the track, we'll enjoy meeting new friends, being with old ones, and sharing ideas inspired by Jewish Tradition. Rabbi Evon will share inspiring ideas from Torah and Judaism to help us connect, build community, and strengthen our own Jewish identities.
Snow-shoers welcome and the make-up of the group will determine our pace (i.e. if we have a large number of snow shoers, they will set the pace, however if the XCers have a larger presence, they will determine pace. We aim to be inclusive, and want this to be enjoyable and a good morning experience for all. We may even split up if the numbers indicate).
